Nice to meet you!
My Name is Mamy Kalambay, I am a Registered Psychotherapist. I live in the city of Ottawa, I am originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo. I love travelling, spending time with my family and most importantly getting the chance to help others. I have experience working with young adults, individuals, and couples on a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression and trauma amongst other complexities. My work history is significant for navigating numerous types of interactions which has further developed my skill set as a mental health professional.
I think the year 2020 has taught us how things can be unpredictable and how they can quickly change in a positive or negative way. Personally, some days have felt very challenging, especially due to the unknown of what tomorrow will bring. I have tried my best to stay grounded and only focus on things I can control. It has also reinforced my need to better equip myself with tools and strategies no matter the situation.
Finding the right therapist for you can be challenging, therefore to make sure we are a good fit, I offer a free 20 min consultation to answer your questions.
Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed, down or anxious? Do you have a hard time accomplishing goals? Do you want to work on your relationships? I use a client-centered approach and incorporate integrative techniques to psychotherapy, predominantly working from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). Together we will identify, understand and explore your challenges. We will figure out the strategies that work for you in your journey and how we can reach your goals.
